Will her decision prove to be all she ever hoped for or will it be the exact opposite , without giving to much away let me just say this book does are some getting into its a toss between history and romance however if you love to learn true history behind cultures and different faiths, then I’m sure you will love this book . I highly recommend this this book and I look forward too the second in the series, Minding the Light

I loved the history and lifestyle of the Island that the book portrays. I loved how some of the characters were so dedicated to family in the story. So well written, I couldn't put it down.
I loved this book! Stayed up reading really late; I just couldn't put it down. It was very informative, exciting, and factual. One of the best books Suzanne has written in my opinion.
I really enjoyed this book. I learned alot about the Quakers. I enjoyed that the story went from Great Mary to Phoebe. Very good plot, great characters. I cant wait for the next in the series. God bless you
Suzanne Woods Fisher is an amazing writer who always delivers. Phoebe 's Light did not disappoint. I loved the characters who faced struggles and trials much like we do today , even though the story was placed in a different time period. Suzanne is a master at weaving in scriptures and salvation messages throughout the story.
Phoebe Starbuck has always done what her father wanted her to do. But now she has decided she's do wants marry Captain Phineas Foulger and sailing far away on his whaling ship from Nantucket. Her Father was not happy with the idea but he gives her two gifts, both of which Phoebe sees little need for. The first is an old sheepskin journal from Great Mary and getting Matthew Macy, a minder, to sail on the ship and keep an eye on Phoebe. Phoebe will quickly discover this is not the grand adventure you envisioned
This is a well written and thoroughly researched book about the early settlers in Nantucket. I love reading this type of story that I get involved with the characters. It gives me insights into what life was like and what they had to struggle with in their circumstances. I loved it!
